THE   SOCIETY OF FRIENDS OF NEPAL  

EXHIBITION OF ARTS AND CRAFTS

 The Society of Friends of Nepal (SOFON) is commemorating the life and work of Mahatma Gandhi (1869-1948), who struggled for the social justice and non- violence.

 

The Society of Friends of Nepal (SOFON) is a Canadian Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) registered under the Society’s Act of Alberta since 1987. It also has tax exempt status with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). Kalaguthi is a project of Society of Friends of Nepal (SOFON) which operates a training centre for underprivileged women and youth of Nepal .

This exhibition of arts and crafts is dedicated to his memory.

 This exhibition exhibits the works of students of Kalaguthi Training Institute, Kathmandu , Nepal .

 Kalaguthi is modeled on Gandhi’s philosophy of self reliance and service.

 

The material and items on display will be:

 Mahatma Gandhi

Silk material, cotton fabric, tapestries, carpets, scarves, shawls, cushions, bead necklaces and bracelets, etc.  The works of some international professional artists will also be on display.
